BreedWise BV - Professional Training for the Seed Sector

BreedWise aims at transfer of knowledge to employees of seed and breeding firms, and institutions in this field. The training program started more then forty years ago, and has expanded considerably in the last twenty years. The courses are highly appreciated for their integration between theory and practical application.

Courses are given in close co-operation with HAS University of Applied Sciences (s-Hertogenbosch), Wageningen University & Research, Naktuinbouw (Netherlands Inspection Service for Horticulture on propagation material)and other institutions in the Netherlands.

BreedWise offers a complete program for all types of employees on all levels (from people who have no green education to university level). Courses are generally offered at a central location (Wageningen) or tailor made for in company training. The courses are mostly presented in Dutch, but are also available in English and German.

Course Plant Breeding Essentials in one week

HAS University and Breedwise collaborate in organizing a training course for professionals in the plant breeding industry from all over the world in English.
The course Plant breeding essentals in one week will be held 27-30 January 2020.
It is meant for plant breeders and for researchers who collaborate with plant breeders. This one week course is a mix of theoretical sessions, practical applications and field visits

Breedwise BV is founded by Idy van Leeuwen (MSc.). Idy graduated from Wageningen University in 1980 on the subjects Plant Breeding, Genetics, Plant Pathology and Statistics.
She has working experience in knowledge transfer to farmers, scientists and employees of breeding companies, both in Dutch and English language, and she has worked in many countries. Since 1992 she teaches and organises courses for the Sector Seed and Propagating Material in the Netherlands and abroad.
